Molly O. Hoopes/Baltimore City Recreation and Parks, Horticulture division/Molly is an Artist-Naturalist at Cylburn Arboretum and at the H.P. Rawlings Conservatory in Druid Park. A member of the American Society of Botanical Artists and the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, her preferred medium is watercolor. She leads tours of the H.P. Rawlings Conservatory and of the Cylburn Mansion, gardens, and trails, and facilitates botanical watercolor experiences in the Cylburn gardens and in the Conservatory (the 2nd oldest public Conservatory in the country, consisting of a Desert House, Tropical Rainforest House, Mediterranean House, Palm House, Orchid Room, and outside gardens). In her lessons, she demonstrates traditional watercolor techniques and color-mixing, and she teaches about flower anatomy and pollination and about plant adaptations in different biomes. At Cylburn, she also teaches tree ID.
