Botanical Watercolor in the Garden, Cylburn Arboretum

Enjoy a short Nature hike. Learn about pollination. Identify parts of a flower. Practice watercolor techniques. Draw and paint flowers, seed pods, or plants outside in the gardens, or inside (in inclement weather) in the Greenhouse Classroom. Watercolors, clipboards, brushes, pencils, and paper are provided. Stay for a picnic in the outdoor gardens, if desired.
Learn about the history of botanical art. Learn about science illustration careers and education pathways.
Can also include tour of the historic Cylburn mansion. Can be adapted as a teacher training on science illustration or botanical art techniques and how to use art to teach about science.
