Program / Event Details

Students will use A City Dream as a guiding text to write letters to City Council Members and create public service announcements in the form of a commercial or infographic (digital or hand drawn) that reinforces community care.

Goals

1. Students will define community.

2. Students will identify the role of city council.

3. Students will identify their city councilperson.

4. Students will write and email letters to their city councilperson specifying concerns about their neighborhoods.

5. Students will define and discuss urban blight, food apartheid, urban farming, and litter control.

6. Students will conduct online research to create a Public Service Announcement in the form of a commercial or infographic that reinforces community care.

7. Students will present their projects at the close of the residency.
