Valerie Branch Dance Ensemble – Exploring, Creating, and Dancing with Our Friend

In this dance residency, students will learn the difference between non-locomotor and locomotor movements. They will explore movement patterns throughout the classroom in high, medium, and low levels with respect for who and what is around them. They will be able to demonstrate and identify their favorite non-locomotor and locomotor movements. They will work together in pairs and in large groups to share ideas and create a dance with repeating movement patterns. Students will be encouraged to explore new and exciting ways to move their bodies with support from their friends, teacher, and teaching artist.
