Using Art and Stories to Explore Mindfulness and Coping Skills
$450.00

Self Regulation is a skill that comes from learning mindfulness (a conscious awareness) and coping (how to deal with it once you are aware of it) strategies and practicing those strategies so that they become a well rehearsed plan students can go to when they feel dysregulated or overwhelmed.
Using a combination of art making and stories students will be introduced to three mindfulness techniques (breathing, body scan and labeling feelings) and explore coping skill options. The 4 class workshop will culminate in students creating a handmade book that they can use to practice the self regulation process on their own and in their classroom.
