the BUCKETS (& other non-conventional percussive instruments)
$1,200.00

In association with STOMP and Enough Said Productions, our founder Kwame Opare choreographed and assistant directed the short film and p.s.a. “STOMP Out Litter” , an anti-litter campaign; San Francisco, CA. The success of that campaign led Mr. Kwame to create the Great Recycled Orchestra Workshop (G.R.O.W.) to bring awareness to the negative impact littering has on our Baltimore City communities.

Students learn elements of music and practice percussion using non-conventional instruments such as 5-gallon buckets, plastic water bottles, old basketballs, etc. Students become inspired to take action in their own communities after this creatively educational experience.

Current G.R.O.W. Workshops:

THE BUCKETS

Integrative and collaborative based pedagogy supports students’ ability to explore creatively with purpose. In this workshop students almost immediately recognize the importance of working together and often rejoice when hearing themselves playing a rhythm they only just learned, altogether.
