Ologundê – Axé Puro: Folkloric Music & Dance from Brazil

Ologundê performs Axé Puro, a diverse repertoire which includes the rituals associated with Candomblé, a synthesis of the Yoruba and the Catholic religions in which various orixas (gods) are invoked; the breathtaking capoeira martial arts; and the exhilarating semba de roda, which can be traced back to the semba of Angola. Its performances and educational programs can be tailored to fit a specific venue or event.

Access for All Grant Program covers up to 80% of the total cost including travel. Maryland State Arts Council Artist In Residence Grant can cover up to 40% of all residency programs.
