Mia Halton – Say it Loud and See it Big!
The concept for the canvas mural is determined by the school and students. The finished artwork is displayed permanently at the school, a lasting reminder of the residency. Students collaboratively create a design that showcases their individual interpretations of the theme. Students are introduced to beginning design theory and to the basics of using acrylic paints.

Cost:
Typically, residencies range from $2,500 to $3,500, but we can use your available budget and ‘work backwards’ to create a cost-effective residency for your school. We may be able to assist you in securing grant and funding opportunities.
Discount for Title 1 Stipend schools:
Access for All Grant Program covers up to 80% of the total cost including travel. Maryland State Arts Council Artist In Residence Grant can cover up to 40% of all residency programs.
