Maryland Collects: Jacob Lawrence School Tour & Art Activity

“Maryland Collects: Jacob Lawrence” explores the world of renowned 20th century artist Jacob Lawrence whose colorful work has universal appeal. This exhibition of over 50 prints from private collections throughout Maryland, showcases the African American experience, especially in works that visually represent the stories of Toussaint L’Ouverture, Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass. A born storyteller, Lawrence’s works are a must-see for all K-12 students.
SCHOOL TOURS
Available Tuesdays – Fridays, from October through December 2017. Combine a tour with an art activity for a 90-minute experience. Tours and studios are free for Title 1 schools. All others pay regular admission ($4) and a $2 fee for the studio experience.
