Hot Horns – Brass Can Do Anything

Beginning with a blast from a prehistoric cow horn, students are immediately engaged in an action-packed music assembly portraying the history of the brass family. Students learn about various musical periods and connections to world history, science, and math. Students learn how valves work, the relationship between an instrument’s size and pitch, and why trombones have slides. Selected students get the chance to perform alongside the ensemble.
