Equality for Women: “Women Take the Lead”
$550.00

DanceInTime’s “Women Take The Lead” program briefly addresses women’s changing roles in society and the move toward equal rights for women. But in addition to the political lens through which women’s advancement has occurred, the program looks at women’s changing role in the arts, particularly in dance.
In this fun and educational program, women dance Latin dances, both as leaders and followers. The audience will have an opportunity to guess who was doing which part, as well as to learn a few dance moves!

The phenomenon of women leading partnership dances reflects their changing role in society. In the spirit of “art imitates life,” DanceInTime brings you a high spirited presentation in which ladies embrace all the roles that are played by Latin dancers.

Generally, audience members will have an opportunity to dance as well—with everyone offered a choice of whether they prefer to learn the leader’s or follower’s footwork. Guaranteed to be empowering and fun!

This program is suitable for Women’s History Month (March), Women’s Equality Day, social studies units on the progress of Women’s Equality and Rights, etc.

All programs run by DanceInTime are flexible in length and costs, depending on the details of the program that are desired. More details can be found here: https://www.danceintime.com/shows#womens-history-month-1.
