The arts hold a deeply personal significance for those who endeavor to learn them and strive for mastery within them. The Engage Creativity (EC) framework is built on leveraging the principles and practices that drive artists’ mastery to enhance students’ academic achievement and cultivate greater engagement within their schools and communities.

Performing pedagogy and crafting curricula specifically tailored to students’ right now needs, enables educators to provide comprehensive support. EC’s culturally grounded strategy, designed to cultivate creativity, enhance social skills, bolster self-esteem, and nurture emotional well-being will naturally propel young people to academic excellence. Adaptable across all content areas, this framework gives our students vitally important ability to surmount adversity and overcome formidable challenges faced within their communities. Moreover, the EC approach positively affects school climate and relationships between students and teachers.

EC develops mission-oriented, purpose-driven, creative problem solvers that recognize their inherent significance within the larger context. Participants in this session will leave with a new understanding of unmet student needs and *actionable tools* to strengthen school and community-based arts and academic learning programs.
