Drumming With Dad

This program is for MALE CARE GIVERS ONLY.

Drumming with Dad will provide a hands-on activity that fathers and their children can participate in together. This is meant to be extra bonding time for children and the male care givers in their life as well as time and space for fathers to build community with each other.

During the session there will be an introduction to the drums, African history of the drums, and actual engagement with the drums.

The drums will be used as metaphors for the family and the community. The instruments will be used to connect
these ideals about how fathers, mothers, and the children can work together in harmony in their family and further how their family and others can work together to form harmony in the community.

Event/Program Details

Location: We travel to your site - Due to COVID we can host programming outside

Audiences: PreK, Kindergarten, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12

Art Forms: Music, Dance and Movement

Program/Event Format: In School Workshop, After School/Weekend

Cost: $250 per hour - includes instructor and equipment (several drums and other materials)
