Anna collaborates with school staff to tailor this residency to support the objectives of the school. Flamenco song is poetry with a strong rhythmic base and can benefit Spanish, English, and elementary math classes. In this dance residency, Spanish classes learn the can use Flamenco song to support vocabulary development, pronunciation, and social studies objectives. English classes that are exploring creative writing and poetry can focus on meter through the rhythmic handclapping that accompanies Flamenco song. For elementary math students, Flamenco supports the study of patterns and basic math skills through rhythmic hand clapping.
