MINDFUL FLAMES CREATIVE EXPERIENCE

Mindful Flames Creative Experience provides hands-on, engaging learning experiences that combine creativity, STEAM education, mindfulness, and social-emotional learning. Our programs encourage curiosity, creativity, problem-solving, self-expression, and confidence while allowing students to create something they can take pride in.

Programs can be adapted to accommodate student ages, grade levels, group sizes, and the goals of your school.

STEAM PROGRAM

Bath Bomb Chemistry Lab

Program Description

Students explore the science behind bath bombs through a fun, hands-on chemistry experience. Participants learn about acids and bases, chemical reactions, measurement, ratios, and how different ingredients work together, while designing and creating their own bath bomb.

This experience combines scientific exploration, creativity, problem-solving, and product design in a fun and age-appropriate environment. Students are encouraged to observe, ask questions, follow a process, and explore how the changes in the ingredients affect the final product.

Learning Objectives

Students will:

• Explore basic chemistry concepts through a hands-on activity
• Learn about acids, bases, and chemical reactions
• Practice measurement and following a procedure
• Explore ratios and how ingredients work together
• Use problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
• Apply creativity and product-design concepts
• Create and take home their own bath bomb

Recommended Grade Levels

Grades 3–8 (The activity can be adjusted based on student age and grade level.)

Program Length

60–90 minutes

Room Setup Needs

• The tables and chairs should be arranged so students can work in small groups.
• Each participant will need a flat workspace. Access to water and a nearby sink is recommended for cleanup.
• A designated area or trays for students to place finished projects to dry/set is also recommended.

Attendance

Groups larger than 25 students may be accommodated with planning and may require additional instructors, materials, or multiple sessions.
