This 35-minute interactive performance promotes foundational literacy skills by integrating reading, creative movement, and storytelling. Designed for PreK–2nd grade students, Step Afrika! Reads encourages physical activity while reinforcing the importance of daily reading at home. The program supports early childhood development standards by fostering listening comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, and motor coordination. It also highlights the value of family engagement in the literacy journey and aligns with social-emotional learning (SEL) by promoting confidence, participation, and community connection.
