Arts Integration Program: Drama Across the Curriculum
Available for the 2024-2025 school year!
As an experienced educator and arts integration specialist, I am thrilled to offer a Drama Across the Curriculum residency program that brings the power of theatre into classrooms to enhance learning in any subject area for Pre-K to 12th-grade students. This program provides an engaging and creative approach to education, helping students connect academic content with dramatic arts to deepen their understanding, critical thinking, and collaborative skills.
The goal is to partner with teachers to provide a dynamic, standards-aligned learning experience that meets the unique needs of students at all grade levels, ensuring every learner has the opportunity to succeed.
Program Benefits and Features
1. Tailored to Any Subject Area:
Whether the focus is literacy, science, social studies, math, or social-emotional learning, this program uses theatre techniques—storytelling, role-playing, improvisation, and movement—to make abstract concepts tangible and exciting.
2. Boosting Comprehension and Engagement:
Students will explore content through character creation, scene work, and dramatic reenactments. This hands-on approach improves understanding of topics like historical events, scientific processes, or literary themes.
3. Expanding Critical Thinking:
Drama challenges students to analyze problems, empathize with multiple perspectives, and propose creative solutions, fostering higher-order thinking skills.
4. Promoting Social-Emotional Learning:
Drama encourages empathy, self-awareness, and teamwork, creating a supportive environment for students to explore their emotions and build meaningful connections.
5. Teacher Collaboration:
Teachers are integral to the planning process, ensuring that drama activities align seamlessly with curriculum standards and classroom goals.
