Maria Broom, widely known as actress for her roles in HBO's "The Wire" and "The Corner" is also known as 'Miss Maria, the Story Dancer or the Story Mother'. She has performed and taught locally and globally for more 40 years and has been on the faculty at the Baltimore School for the Arts for 22 years teaching storytelling and dance in the theatre department. She is the author of the important and popular book "The Village Bully" which introduces 'circles of love'... showing children and teachers how to affirm and heal the child who hurts and bullies others.
