Grammy Award winning performer Dan Zanes and Haitian-American jazz vocalist and music therapist Claudia Zanes make uplifting interactive electric folk music for audiences of all ages. Their concerts feature old and new songs from near and far presented in a manner that is engaging, inspiring, and ultimately educational. Using voices, electric and 12-string guitar, flute, trombone, harmonica, and jaw harp, the two explore various forms of social music from sea shanties to gospel, Haitian folk to blues, and original songs.
Dan and Claudia believe in joyful communal expression. Group singing, movement and dance, as well as sign language, are a part of every performance. In these times when much of the music making is left to the professionals, it’s common for people to leave a Dan and Claudia concert with the feeling that yes, this is possible for them, too.
Time Magazine called Dan Zanes “The family-music genre’s most outspoken and eloquent advocate.”
