Adinkra History and Canvas Painting
$650.00
Explore the rich history, cultural philosophy, and visual symbolism of traditional West African Adinkra symbols from Ghana. In this engaging hands-on program, participants learn about the origins of Adinkra textiles, the cultural proverbs behind key symbols (such as Sankofa and Gye Nyame), and how visual art is used to convey community values and personal stories.
Participants will apply these traditional concepts to modern art making by designing and painting their own personalized canvas using metallic/acrylic paints, block printing, or stencil techniques to tell their own visual narrative.
