Kevin Gift – What’s your Musivation? Residency

$2,500.00

During this music residency students will explore mood and motivation through music. This flexible program can be customized to integrate into various subject areas, such as math, science, and English/language arts. By the end of the residency, students will have learned:

Elementary mixing techniques;
How to manage time in a recording studio environment;
DAW (Digital Audio Workstation);
How to use MIDI instruments;
How to record audio;
And how to record MIDI.
Students will have the opportunity to record individual tracks of audio; play and record MIDI instruments; add and manipulate turntable effects within the DAW software; mixdown multiple tracks into a stereo master track; and add effects to individual tracks and the overall mix. Artist provides all necessary technology.

Cost: Typically, residencies range from $2,500 to $3,500, but we can use your available budget and ‘work backwards’ to create a cost-effective residency for your school. We may be able to assist you in securing grant and funding opportunities.

Discount for Title 1 Stipend schools: Access for All Grant Program covers up to 80% of the total cost including travel. Maryland State Arts Council Artist In Residence Grant can cover up to 40% of all residency programs.
