Enact history by telling its story.  Using storytelling in the classroom has proven to be an empowering and educational tool for both the teller/teacher and the listener student.  Storytelling improves self- confidence, literacy, and group dynamics.  During this professional development workshop, educators learn several activities that can be used to jump-start the creative mind and body, create a safe classroom environment, and deepen students’ understanding of history and other cultures.  Participants walk away with an effective set of curriculum-based techniques that increase students’ love of learning.
