Rap, the music of Hip Hop, is known for clever word play and entertaining larger-than-life artists. What is not as often acknowledged is the language arts skills required to compose raps. This professional development workshop provides you with tools to turn any text source into fertile ground for rapping through focusing on a main idea, key words, and summarization. Beatboxing techniques are also explored, as every rapper needs a beat!

Discount for Title 1 Stipend schools:
If scheduled as part of a residency program - Maryland State Arts Council Artist In Residence Grant can cover up to 40% of all residency programs.
