Hua Hua Zhang: Introducing Chinese Calligraphy

Chinese Calligraphy is a beautiful art that occupies a distinguished position in the field of traditional Chinese Arts. Chinese Calligraphy is a means of communication and expresses a person’s artistic identity. In this workshop, students will learn to write simple words in Chinese ideographs and to use traditional brushes. For extended workshops, students can also learn to make a Chinese scroll or draw a Chinese fan to mount their artwork.

$2500.00 Typically, residencies range from $2,500 to $3,500, but we can use your available budget and ‘work backwards’ to create a cost-effective residency for your school
Discount for Title 1 Stipend schools:
Access for All Grant Program covers up to 80% of the total cost including travel. Maryland State Arts Council Visiting Performers Grant can cover up to 1/3 of the cost for all assembly programs.
