Using a concept called “literacy through photography,” students take photographs of objects that represent who they are or something about them in this photography residency. The experience of creating the photograph along with the photograph itself helps students write descriptive short sentences about why the object represents them.

Cost:
Typically, residencies range from $2,500 to $3,500, but we can use your available budget and ‘work backwards’ to create a cost-effective residency for your school. We may be able to assist you in securing grant and funding opportunities.
Discount for Title 1 Stipend schools:
Access for All Grant Program covers up to 80% of the total cost including travel. Maryland State Arts Council Artist In Residence Grant can cover up to 40% of all residency programs.
