WORKS ABOUT VOTING

These pieces were created in response to an assignment. This assignment was designed in response to the fact that this year is an election year. Our students got a chance to really think about the importance of the theme of ‘Voice’ in relationship to voting. This idea of ‘voice’ is also deeply entrenched in the communities in which each student resides.

This assignment asked students to consider the themes of ‘voting’ and ‘anti-racism’. They reflected on both themes equally in their finished artwork. Part of the lesson taught some of the basic composition standards to graphic design. There was also some basic training in Canva, a free online graphic design software.
